The house was built in 1999,
as part of a discrete, high-quality development on the shores
of Lough Swilly. It is south facing with spectacular views
over Portsalon Beach, Ballymastocker Bay, Knockalla Mountain,
and across to Inishowen.
The architecture of the site
successfully blends traditional Irish rural building styles
with modern construction techniques. The house has white washed
walls, slate roof, pitch pine floor, smaller deep-set windows,
exposed roof beams, and cast iron stove.
Gas central heating throughout,
gas fired stove in the front room, coupled with full insulation
technology and double-glazing ensure the house is kept warm
and draught free. Water is heated on-demand providing a constant
and plentiful supply.
